Love, passion, hospitality, quality, experience, and authenticity\u2014these are not just words but the very values on which we built the Mezcalli concept.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The dream of creating a unique place was born through conversations between our founders. Each of them brought their expertise and experience to the project, gradually shaping the vision of the restaurant. Initially, we planned to open a cocktail bar with elements of Mexican culture, but when our chef joined us on September 15, Mexico\u2019s Independence Day, our direction began to shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result was the opening of an authentic Mexican restaurant where high-quality food, innovative drinks, and an unforgettable atmosphere come together. It\u2019s not just about a gastronomic experience but about creating a place where people feel welcome and where new standards are set. From the very beginning, our ambition was to make Mezcalli a benchmark\u2014not only for exceptional cuisine and service but also for a true Mexican vibe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Name Inspired by Tradition<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When searching for a name, we considered many possibilities. We wanted something that would reflect Mexican culture and the spirit of our project. During our discussions, we realized that the restaurant had already named itself\u2014Mezcalli. It refers to the legendary mezcal drink and the goddess Mayahuel, who, according to Aztec myths, gifted people with maguey, the plant from which mezcal is made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The legend tells of Mayahuel, a young goddess with a magical plant, jealously guarded by her grandmother. The god Quetzalc\u00f3atl convinced her to descend to earth, where they fell in love. To hide from her grandmother\u2019s wrath, they transformed into a magical plant. However, the goddesses of darkness discovered them, and Mayahuel was destroyed. From her remains grew the maguey plant, which brings joy to people through pulque, tequila, and mezcal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Journey Full of Flavors and Culture<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Every detail in Mezcalli has its own story. Our kitchen serves as a bridge between tradition and a modern approach to Mexican gastronomy. From traditional grandmother\u2019s soups to taquitos al pastor served with homemade tepache or horchata\u2014each dish is an invitation to explore Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 11, 2022, we opened Mezcalli with a clear goal: to bring authentic Mexican cuisine to Bratislava, blending tradition, innovation, and elegance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art as Part of the Experience<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Our restaurant is not just about food and drinks. We want visitors to experience Mexico through art as well. The walls of Mezcalli are adorned with a striking portrait of Frida Kahlo by Jozef Stan\u010d\u00edk, capturing her iconic expression and dramatic colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unique ceramic elements were created by \u013dubom\u00edr Holma, and the illustrations decorating the restaurant come from the talented artist Nat\u00e1lia Van\u010disinov\u00e1. Each artwork tells a story that connects history, culture, and our love for Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mezcalli is more than just a restaurant. It\u2019s a place where flavors, passion, and traditions come together. And we are excited to create this story together with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
